Happy Halloween
I would just like to wish everyone a good Halloween this year and that I hope they had a good time, or at least scored a lot of candy. I have just gotten back from work and am actually not feeling so hot. Maybe I won't make it out this year after all. Also, I am told that we only had 18 kids come visit our door tonight, which is an all time low.
Farbe!
For those of you who are unaware, I have recently completed a school project for a french commercial entitled, Farbe! Meaning, Fausse Barbe in french, which translates to Fake Beard. I feel as though it was one of the better creations of the Slaunwhite / Bate productions. As we get older, we progressively get better in the idea of how things should play out. Unfortunately for most people, it is in french. It is not a movie, so it isn't long nor does it have a story to it. I will be putting it online for anyone who wishes to download it.

Also, I may have mentioned this in the past, but we also created a movie last year for an English project, after having to read the book, Space Demons. It is entitled, A Video Life. The idea was to show how video games can ruin lives. This video may or may not become available to download as it is a large file.
School
Well, school is finally under way with already a month gone by. So far so good. There are a lot of things to do at NRHS, but you have to be willing to commit. There are great things like the Interact club or Student's Council or anything for that matter. You just gotta commit. Some people find that hard when you have the opportunity to go out for lunch whenever you feel like it.

For anyone interested in Pre IB next year, I would just like to give my point of view on it in saying that it is not that bad so far. Especially if you have a pretty good handle on math, then it shouldn't be too hard. Although, it seems like it could get a lot harder, so I guess I'm going to have to play it by ear. Everything works out a lot easier if you keep up with the work, and not let it all pile up for the last minute. As for the full IB program, I'm a little reluctant on that and I think it might not give enough free time for what I want. There is a lot of work.

I guess I'll wait and see. This year seems to be pretty decent so far, at least.
The Jubilee
Often reffered to as the 'Jube', the Jubilee is upon us once again this year. A chance for local talent and not so local groups to show off their skills in front of hundreds at the New Glasgow water front. The Jubilee is one of the most popular events held in New Glasgow along side different parades, such for Christmas and Canada Day.

This event isn't cheap either, unless of course you are under 12 years of age and can get in for free with an adult. It costs 20 dollars for the evening or 45 dollars for the weekend. It ran from Thursday July 31st until Sunday August 3rd, this year and is often the first weekend in August in other years.

If you're a big fan, the weekend pass is the way to go. Many good memories are had at the jube. Loud music, good food, always trying to get an of age bracelet for the beer grounds, big fights and of course run-ins with the cops. Yes, the jube is certainly a good time had in good old Pictou County.
30 Degrees
Yes, that's right. Our pool has finally hit the 30 degrees (celsius) mark for this summer. Which is about 87 in fahrenheit. This is probably one of the nicest summer's we've had in a long time. So hot, that you don't even want to get out of bed. It's these kind of days when you can be truly thankful that you have a pool. The only problem with this pool temp is that when you jump in to cool yourself off, it doesn't even help. It is just that warm.

Face Lift
For awhile now, I have been pondering over changing the look of this website. It started off back in the day looking very piczo-esk and thanks to my brother, eventually developed into an actual real, good looking website. Although, I have been starting to think that this site seems a little childish and may need a few changes here and there. Such things as removing the cat in the corner (unfortunately) and maybe changing a few of the colors and content.

The blogging will be more up to date and not just twice a year. As well with the puzzles and quotes. I may add something new here or there, but not too much that I can't keep up. All of this should be finished around the next couple of weeks.
Exam Week..
Yes, it is that time of the year. High school students will be writing their exams throughout next week. This can be a stressful time for many people. But really, all you need to do, is slow down and just go over your work. Take an hour or two a night, and just look things over. It doesn't have to be stressful. I will be writting five exams; Covering all the basics.

The basketball season is coming to an end as well. We aren't allowed doing anything with the coach during exam week, but we'll figure something out. We have a couple tournaments coming up and then regionals. It should be a good month.
